It is official - we got our building permit and next week we will start playing in the dirt.
After a couple of year of looking for a house we would like, we came to a conclusion that it will be better if we just build it ourselves. So, last summer we found a property we like and since then we were working on coming up with a plan. Now everything is ready and we can start actually putting it together.
It's been a few years since I swung a hammer, so it will be fun to do some physical work for a change. I hope I can remember something from the old days.
Here is where the action will be. We cleared the lot already, it was completely covered by blackberries - no more blackberries for the neighbourhood.
I will try to keep this blog up for those who might be interested, but mainly for myself, to have a record of the progress.
